Add this iconic location to your bucket list and plan your Rim to Rim hike between May 15 and October 15.

Generally, a Rim to Rim training plan should extend for about 12 weeks. The 12 week plan that prepares you for THE hike, I call the Peak Phase. The Peak Phase can be more or less than 12 weeks, depending on the level of fitness you maintain throughout the year.  

I refer to the exercise plan you follow throughout the year as the Base Phase.

Book a conversation with me to discuss Base or Peak training for Rim to Rim or any domestic or international hike.

On a scale of 1-5, a 5 indicates confidence in preparing for a safe and successful Rim to Rim hike.

If your confidence is a level 4 or under, I will assess the effectiveness and safety of your current training program. By the time we conclude our conversation, I aim to elevate your confidence to level 5 so you can take on any hiking challenge that comes your way!

As part of our conversation, I will educate you about the Fit For Trips Big 5™.  

For hiking mastery, you must balance all five of these in your training plan:

1 – Walk inclines

2 – Walk stairs

3 – Walk lunges

4 – Walk far

5 – HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

+ Weekly goals and a flexible training plan to achieve them the right way, but your way.

+ A tracking chart with a unique formula for any hike based on miles and elevation gain to avoid overtraining and reach peak performance.
